Spontaneous 3-day trip to Madrid. Are 3 days enough?

Hey everyone,

I just booked a very spontaneous 3-day trip to Madrid. I will arrive late on Saturday and leave on Wednesday in the morning, so I have 3 full days.

Main reason: I got a ticket for Atlético Madrid vs Barcelona, so I decided to just go for it.

I put together a rough plan and wanted to check if it makes sense or if I’m missing something important.

Day 1 – Old Town & Highlights

- Puerta del Sol

- Plaza Mayor

- Royal Palace

- Almudena Cathedral

- Gran Vía

- Templo de Debod (for sunset)

Day 2 – Culture & Park

- Prado Museum (or Reina Sofía as an alternative)

- Retiro Park (including Crystal Palace)

Day 3 – Neighborhoods

- Malasaña

- La Latina

- San Ginés (churros)

+ the game in the evening

Main questions:

Is this good for a spontaneous trip or am I missing something ?

Appreciate any tips
