Hair salon with scalp issue

Hi! I’ve been wanting to get my hair cut and maybe coloured professionally for a while now. I normally do it myself but I’ve been wanting to get it professionally done. My issue is, I have a lesion on the back of my head. It just won’t heal and it’s been 2 years. I’m pretty sure it started as a chemical burn and I pick at all my wounds so it just never has healed to this day. My issue is, now I’m too scared to go to a hair salon to get my hair cut due to the cut on the back of my head. At first I told myself I’ll just wait til it heals but it’s been 2 years and it’s not healed at all.

Would it be okay for me to go to a hair salon and like just ask them to stay away from the cut, especially for a cut? Or is this considered a no go for hair salons and I’m stuck cutting my own hair til it eventually decides to heal itself?
