Proactive deworming?

Does anyone practice preventative deworming? If yes what do you use?

Growing up with horses we dewormed every spring for all horses as a preventative measure. I'm wondering if this applies to chickens too.

My chickens partially free range and are definitely exposed to wild birds, bugs, etc.
